JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Organizational and Talent Development will lead the strategic design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that strengthen Think Together’s human capital and organizational effectiveness. This role combines expertise in organizational development (OD) and talent development (TD), with a strong focus on leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, and career growth.

Reporting to senior leadership, this role is responsible for fostering a learning culture that drives high performance and aligns with the organization’s mission and values. The Director will lead the development of scalable systems, including learning technologies, onboarding pathways, leadership pipelines, and coaching structures to support talent at all levels—from frontline staff to executive leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and evolve OD and TD strategies to improve organizational performance, employee engagement, retention, and career progression.
  • Ensure talent development initiatives support quality of program implementation, leadership capability building, and compliance with CDE and other funding requirements.
  • Design and manage end-to-end talent development programs including onboarding, coaching, succession planning, and internal career mobility.
  • Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), including content strategy, learning pathways, and reporting on learner engagement and outcomes.
  • Act as an internal consultant to senior leaders and department heads on matters of strategy, culture, change management, and leadership development.
  • Partner with Human Capital on onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing development systems.
  • Innovate professional development delivery models and leverage technology to improve accessibility, scalability, and impact.
  • Drive change management efforts through stakeholder engagement, communication plans, and coaching to sustain organizational transformation.
  • Facilitate leadership retreats, training sessions, and strategic planning workshops that foster alignment and clarity.
  • Support program-facing training systems and materials, including contributions to the Program Manual and Manager’s Toolkit.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to co-create induction and development plans for new hires and high-potential employees.
  • Monitor key OD/TD metrics and KPIs to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future strategy.
  • Provide fiscal oversight and resource planning to ensure efficient and effective department operations.
  • Represent the department in Strategic Leadership Group meetings and other high-level planning groups.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or experience equivalent working with project management in a fast-paced environment. Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience leading organizational and talent development initiatives, preferably in a high growth or start-up environment.
  • Proven success in designing and scaling leadership development and performance systems.
  • Skilled facilitator, coach, and strategist with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experienced in using LMS platforms, OD tools, and data dashboards.
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of change management theory and practical application.
  • Experience in the K-12 education sector or with youth-serving organizations is a plus.
  • Demonstrates integrity, adaptability, and collaborative leadership in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Attends staff and department meetings as appropriate, including bi-annual and annual in-person meetings.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Adobe
  • File Management (One Drive, Box, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Email, Internet, website, and social media platforms.
  • Use of typical office equipment

COMPENSATION

  • Salary Range $160,000-$170,000

This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
