Position Overview

Cambridge Security Services is seeking an Armed Security Officer for an immediate opening. In this role, you will conduct armed foot or vehicle patrols (interior and exterior), control access points, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, write detailed reports, deter criminal activity, and perform other duties as outlined in post orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security patrols on foot or by vehicle in designated areas
• Identify and address irregularities, security concerns, or safety hazards
• Respond to emergencies by sounding alarms or contacting authorities
• Enforce rules and regulations by warning violators of infractions such as loitering or carrying forbidden items
• Control property access and monitor entrances and exits
• Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner

Candidate Requirements

Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Florida armed security officer license (G) issued by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
• Successful completion of a mental health assessment

Experience and Skills:

• Verifiable work history (if previously employed)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Active listening and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail with the ability to assess and address situations effectively

Other Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old (or meet state requirements)
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to work flexible schedules
• Access to reliable transportation
• Ability to operate radio, telephone, or console equipment
• Completion of all required training
• Successful drug screening (as permitted by law)
• Submission of DD214 discharge document (if prior military)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Environment:

• Indoor and outdoor settings with temperature variations from extreme heat to cold

Physical Activities:

• Standing, walking, sitting, and observing
• Minimal stooping or kneeling
