Through dynamic outreach, intentional mentorship, and transformative discipleship, our missionaries create a space where youth feel a true sense of belonging. By consistently engaging with students-especially those facing challenges or isolation-our missionaries become a bridge between faith and the realities of their daily lives. The ripple effect of this work strengthens families, schools, and entire communities, offering the hope and values that only Christ can bring. As an AYO Missionary, you will be at the forefront of this transformative mission, actively investing in the lives of young people through outreach events, discipleship programs, and community engagement. This is an opportunity to radically share the Gospel, build authentic relationships, and make a lasting impact on the next generation. Key Responsibilities: 1.) Youth Evangelization & Outreach

  • Proclaim the love of Christ by leading and coordinating weekly outreach events, monthly youth activities, retreats, and catechesis.
  • Establish and maintain mentorship programs in local juvenile detention centers, providing spiritual and emotional support to at-risk youth.
  • Organize and facilitate "Open Youth Room" days, creating a welcoming space for young people to gather and grow in faith.
  • Engage with youth by attending school lunches, extracurricular activities, and community events, fostering relationships outside of structured programs.
  • Collaborate with the Local Coordinator of Youth Outreach to develop and implement outreach strategies that lead to deeper discipleship.
2.)Community & Missionary Life
  • Be an active participant in weekly staff prayer, missionary formation sessions, and local AYO mission meetings.
  • Commit to local community involvement, such as volunteering or serving on a parish ministry team.
  • Contribute to the success of fellow missionaries by supporting Ablaze Ministries events and fostering a spirit of collaboration.
  • Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the local AYO office, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.
3.)Mission Partner Development (MPD)
  • Work with an assigned MPD coach to develop a personal strategy for fundraising and financial sustainability.
  • Engage in weekly MPD activities alongside Local Mission Office staff to build and maintain a strong network of mission partners.
  • Participate in monthly check-ins with an MPD coach to track progress and receive ongoing support.
Qualifications:
  • A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, committed to living out your vocation faithfully.
  • At least one year out of high school with a strong desire to serve in youth ministry.
  • Ability to meet personal Mission Partner Development (MPD) goals by fundraising financial support for your missionary role.
  • Willingness to abide by the Ablaze Rule of Life, embracing the community, spiritual, and professional expectations of the mission.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must pass a background check in compliance with Safe Environment policies.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license in good standing preferred.
Why Join Ablaze Youth Outreach? This is more than a job-it's a mission. As an AYO Missionary, you will be immersed in a radical lifestyle of evangelization, discipleship, and community engagement. You will witness firsthand the power of the Gospel to transform young lives and be equipped with the tools, mentorship, and support needed to sustain your mission. If you feel called to bring Christ to the next generation and invest deeply in the lives of young people, we invite you to prayerfully consider applying. Join us. Be a light in the darkness.
