About The Role

The Knowledge Management Technical Writer is responsible for writing and maintaining technical materials such as operating and maintenance instructions as well as knowledge articles. They will review and edit documents for spelling, grammar, organization, consistency, and content, ensuring appropriate style guide, editorial workflow, and industry standards. Involves maintaining repository for internal staff and external customers. In addition to technical document development, this role also designs and maintains templates for incidents and cases to ensure consistency and alignment with operational workflows, providing clear, actionable documentation that supports both knowledge management and enterprise processes. The Knowledge Management Technical Writer works under the direction of the Knowledge Leads to accomplish day-to-day related taskings and special projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist global customers at Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF) and MHS Program Offices with knowledge content creation, validation, editing, and publishing of knowledge articles to various existing knowledge bases.
• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
• Create technical documents required by an enterprise organization.
• Ensure compliance with DHA policies and procedures.
• Successfully contribute to the KM established goals, objectives and performance measures.
• Process user feedback and address issues with new and historical technical documentation.
• Work within the context of multiple electronic projects and programs to ensure success in creating articles and maintaining the enterprise Knowledge Base.
• Manage knowledge files, create and maintain electronic archival system for documentation.
• Assist other internal teams with templates, processes and technical editing.
• Ensures that documents follow the appropriate style guide and editing workflow process.
• Conduct tech writer review of DHAGSC deliverables.
• Maintain assigned contract deliverables according to DHAGSC Deliverables Procedure.

Skillset:

• Strong customer service and communications skills, both oral and written in order to relate information in a direct and succinct method.
• Strong critical thinking, writing and editing skills to achieve quality content.
• Understand how to research to verify, coordinate, and implement the best solution.
• Proven technical competency in the following areas:
  • Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • ServiceNow

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 6 years’ experience or 10 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
• Department of Defense security clearance (ADP II Public Trust) or the ability to obtain one.
• Dependable attendance, independent self-starter who takes initiative to accomplish daily tasks.
• Attention to detail and quality driven.
• Ability to work in groups on team projects.
• ITIL 4 Foundations Certification (desired).
• Working knowledge of Active Directory support structure.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
