Job Description

Are you passionate about crafting clear, compelling content that enhances user experiences?  We’re looking for a  Senior Content Designer  to join us at Thinkific.

As a Senior Content Designer, you’ll help drive content consistency and establish best practices at Thinkific. Reporting to our Staff Content Strategist on the Experience, Design, and Research team, you’ll collaborate closely with Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Engineers to craft intuitive, inclusive, and user-centered content. Your work will shape consistent content standards across the organization, improve the ease of use of our platform, and distinguish our experiences from those of other marketplace offerings.

Your goal will be to enhance and elevate the Thinkific user experience for both customers and their learners through clear, consistent and user-centered content. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • UX Writing: Write clear, concise, and user-centered content across our digital experiences, ensuring alignment with our brand voice and content strategy. Deliver the right language, at the right time, to craft user experiences that are coherent, engaging, intuitive, and accessible
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Enablement: Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, product managers, and developers to create intuitive experiences for our users
  • Evaluative Testing & Content Iteration: Conduct and analyze qualitative and quantitative tests on different types of in-product content to improve user engagement and product usability
  • Passionate Knowledge Sharing & Storytelling: Help foster Thinkific’s content design community—sharing your knowledge and passion for how content design plays a key role in delightful UX experiences
  • Continuous Learning: Obsess over honing your craft and stay current with what’s new to keep our content guidelines and practice best-in-class

The person we have in mind likely:

  • Has 5+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, content strategy, or a related field
  • Brings deep experience in writing and editing product content, with a strong understanding of UX and content design principles
  • Has experience working within design systems and using tools like Figma and Miro
  • Understands how to structure and present information effectively for different audiences
  • Is comfortable conducting or applying insights from user research to inform content decisions
  • Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Is an exceptional communicator and storyteller who can advocate for content, build empathy for the end user, and help stakeholders understand the “why” behind content decisions
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Experience building or contributing to content guidelines and documentation
  • Familiarity with design thinking methodologies
  • Expertise in facilitating content critiques or workshops
  • Feels at home in a Design culture of continuous feedback and critique, and sees feedback as a way to strengthen ideas and outcomes

The recruitment compensation range for this position is $110,800 – 137,500 CAD. Your specific compensation within this range is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging & Accessibility

This is just our initial idea of who we’re looking for! At Thinkific, we know that people have unique career journeys. If your experience is close to what we’ve described but you feel that you might be missing a few of the requirements, please still apply! We believe in equal opportunity and are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across every facet of our business.

We’re also committed to providing a comfortable and accessible interview experience for every candidate. If there are any accommodations our team can make throughout our hiring process (big or small), please let us know.
