Queen of Angels is searching for a part-time custodian,
who will assist our Property Manager in daily duties.

The Custodian is responsible for daily cleaning in all assigned areas of the school and may be called upon by the Property Manager or School Principal to assist in other tasks. These may include special cleaning, moving equipment such as tables and chairs, or locking/unlocking doors. As a custodial worker, the Custodian must maintain all buildings in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the educational or spiritual programs of the school or parish life.

Attributes and Qualifications:

• As part of our parish team, the Custodian will represent our parish to others in their dress, speech, and general comportment. As such, the Custodian must have some knowledge of the Catholic Faith and strive to live in conformity with the moral teachings of the church.

• Must show a desire for the well-being, security, and safety of all Queen of Angels Catholic Church and School parishioners, students, faculty & staff.

• Must assume responsibility for your own continued personal, spiritual and professional growth.

• Must carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Custodian with high integrity and have the ability to work cooperatively, communicate effectively and possess communications skills to function effectively in a diverse community environment.

• Ability to work independently to organize and arrange priorities.

• Ability to schedule and complete work in a timely manner.

• Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated.

• Ability to work closely with the Property Manager and Principal, including taking direction when provided.

• Multiple years’ experience with janitorial work is preferred but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Custodian:

• Daily duties:

  • Hallways/Classrooms

    • Wipe doorknobs and high touch areas.

    • Dry mop floors.

    • Clean interior windows.

    • Pull trash

    • Scrub Classroom Floors on Thursdays.

  • Bathrooms

    • Clean all toilets including the staff bathroom.

    • Sweep and mop floors.

    • Clean sinks

    • Wipe down mirrors.

    • Replenish all bathroom supplies 

      • Female hygiene receptacle should be emptied

    • Clean walls (if necessary)

  • Breezeway

    • Dust surfaces.

      • Including framed pictures.

    • Vacuum the floor. 

      • Carpet and mats

    • Clean windows (inside and outside)

    • Spot-clean the furniture.

    • Dust and organize the table with literature.

  • Lunchroom and Monsignor Faber Activities Center

    • Put up all lunch tables (lunchroom)

    • Dry mop floor (both places)

    • Use floor scrubber daily (lunchroom)

      • Only on Wednesdays in the Monsignor Faber Activities Center

    • Empty all the lunchroom trash

    • Replenish Supplies

• Summer Duties:

  • Hallways/Classrooms

    • Sweep floors

    • Strip/Wax floors

    • Clean tables and chairs

    • Clean interior windows

    • Clean upper windows

    • High touch areas

    • Wipe door knobs

    • Dust/Wash ceiling fan blades

    • If shelves are empty, clean shelving spaces

• Bathrooms

  • Strip/Wax floors

  • Clean stall doors

  • Clean sinks

  • Wipe down mirrors

  • Clean walls 

  • Replenish supplies

• Lunchroom/Monsignor Faber Activities Center

  • Dry mop floors

  • Scrub floors

  • Replenish supplies

  • Empty garbage (if necessary)

• Assess any repairs that are necessary in the classrooms
