Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to perform a wide range of duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems in residential, commercial, and healthcare settings. This role involves handling complex projects, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring all work is completed in compliance with state codes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform emergency repairs, routine service, and preventive maintenance on plumbing systems, gas lines, water supply, drainage, and related equipment.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, install, and repair piping systems, fixtures, and mechanical equipment according to technical diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications.

  • Lead specialty plumbing projects and provide technical guidance and support to other team members.

  • Coordinate, monitor, and inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and local codes.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and work orders.

  • Research and recommend new tools, techniques, and materials to improve departmental efficiency and compliance.

  • Train and support staff to expand capabilities and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade/vocational training in plumbing and blueprint reading preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential or commercial plumbing and maintenance work.

  • Familiarity with plumbing codes related to hospitals and commercial facilities.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, follow instructions, and use hand and power tools.

  • Proficiency in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Must obtain a Journeyman or Master Plumbing License within 24 months of hire.

  • Valid Virginia driver’s license preferred for hospital roles; required for property maintenance positions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work under emergency conditions as designated "emergency personnel."

  • May be required to travel between facilities and supply basic general-purpose maintenance tools.
