Requirements:

• Candidates must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure. Candidates without a state license may be considered but must obtain licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP) within a 60-day training period starting from the date of hire.
• Must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional and Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist (SATS) credentials within 120 days of hire.
• Must possess a CAADC credential or be on an active, approved MCBAP Certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. Upon hire, the Development Plan application must be submitted to MCBAP within 30 days, with or without training completions. If trainings are incomplete at the time of submission, documentation must be provided within 90 days of hire. Failure to comply will result in an inability to provide services.
• Must have experience engaging adults diagnosed with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders, as well as their families and supporters.
• Must have expertise in identifying client service needs and preferences, assisting clients in building on their strengths, resources, and support systems, and navigating available services at The Guidance Center and within the community.
• Must be able to provide trauma-informed care and effectively handle crisis situations.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in technology, strong organizational skills, and effective verbal and written communication. The ability to work independently is essential.
• A nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse experiences and unique needs of adults with mental illness and/or substance use disorders, their families, and service providers is required.
• Michigan license.
