Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
Provide both theoretical and hands-on instruction in key areas, such as medical terminology, anatomy, clinical procedures, patient care, and medical office administration.
Demonstrate proper techniques, safety practices, and ethical standards in medical assisting.
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, engagement, and growth.
Supervise and support students during laboratory work, simulations, and clinical practice.
Assess student progress through evaluations, examinations, and practical assessments, offering constructive feedback to help them grow professionally.
Identify individual learning needs and provide extra support as necessary to ensure all students succeed.
Stay informed about current medical practices, industry trends, and advancements in medical assisting to keep the curriculum relevant and up-to-date.
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to program development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment.
Act as a mentor and resource, offering guidance and support to students throughout their educational journey.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentials are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a practicing medical assistant.
Previous teaching or training experience, particularly in a medical assisting or healthcare education setting, is a plus.
Strong knowledge of medical assisting principles, practices, and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible and engaging way.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively while balancing multiple tasks.
Proficiency in instructional technology and integrating multimedia resources into lessons.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software is beneficial.
