About the Role:

The Director of Health and Safety plays a key role in the development, implementation and maintenance of multiple sites within North America. In addition, this role will have input into the Group health and safety program development and be part of the Ferrero global safety community.

Main Responsibilities:

•    Oversight of multiple production and warehouse facilities in North America
•    Supports the development of local H&S organization capable of supporting company vision and plans
•    Cascades Group H&S objectives, initiatives, activities and programs to the plants/warehouses
•    Ensures systems are in place to guarantee compliance with regulatory and group requirements of the Ferrero organization 
•    Ensures H&S incidents are properly investigated, and appropriate corrective action plans are put in place for all non-compliances identified and systematically followed to closure
•    Advises and supports plant H&S Manager and site management in all questions related to Health & Safety 
•    Coordinates best practices sharing and sharing of lessons learned across the network
•    Actively contributes to Group H&S policies, procedures, programs and initiatives ensuring plant needs are adequately taken into consideration
•    Ensures full use of corporate H&S reporting and management systems in the plants
•    H&S referent and primary contact for plant management and H&S Manager
•    Provides direction and advice to Plant H&S managers/ teams
•    Collaborates with stakeholders to continually develop and raise awareness on Health and Safety topics
•    Routinely meets with plant management and participates and provides updates in plant meetings
•    Monitors and consolidates H&S performance data for the plant(s) and shares with key stakeholders
•    Supports local Health and Safety training initiatives as needed
•    Is accountable for managing people assigned, ensuring a management system based on Group values, motivation, diversity & inclusion, competence development and empowerment
•    Recruits, manages, motivates, coaches and develops plant H&S team(s)
•    Guarantees Human Resources professional development, evaluating people and proposing development initiatives
•    Induction of new plant H&S managers including initial training on Corporate tools and programs 
•    Ability to travel

Who we are looking for:

•    8+ years of health and safety leadership experience in food manufacturing, or other related environments preferred
•    Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related discipline
•    CSP or in progress (or related designations)
•    Proven experience in developing, implementing, and administering corporate safety programs
•    Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision-making skills
•    Strong project management skills
•    Regulatory knowledge

Compensation Data

The base salary range for this position is $127,000 - $187,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time. 

In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
