Job Description

This program requires employees to have an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI and must pass a CI Poly every 5 years. If you have a Full Scope Poly, working this program will keep your Full Scope ACTIVE.

Responsibilities:

Product Backlog Management: Work closely with internal stakeholders (product management, engineering, design, AI specialists, and end-users) to define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog. Ensure the backlog aligns with the product vision and business objectives.

Feature Definition & Roadmap: Define and communicate the roadmap for new features and functionality, focusing on enhancing automation, ease of use, and AI-assisted Need creation. Continuously gather and analyze user feedback to inform feature development.

User-Centered Design: Ensure that the software is intuitive and user-friendly for novice users while meeting the needs of experienced intelligence analysts. Focus on simplifying complex tasks related to imagery request generation and automation.

Collaboration with Development Team: Work closely with the development team (Java and Angular engineers) to ensure technical feasibility, prioritize tasks effectively, and ensure the product is being developed according to business needs.

AI and Automation Integration: Collaborate with the AI/ML team to integrate artificial intelligence into the "Need" creation process, enhancing the automation of image collection for intelligence analysis.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for product-related inquiries, ensuring stakeholders are regularly updated on product progress, milestones, and changes.

Testing & Validation: Assist in defining acceptance criteria and ensuring features are tested thoroughly. Validate new features through user testing and feedback loops to ensure they meet user needs and business goals.

Market & User Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive offerings, and user needs. Conduct research to gather user insights and validate product features and capabilities.

Required Skills/Experience:

Experience: At least 3 5 years as a Product Owner or similar role, ideally in a software development environment. Experience with intelligence-related products or similar domains is a plus.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with software development processes, particularly in Java and Angular, is essential to understand how product features are delivered and to communicate effectively with engineering teams.

Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including development teams, business leaders, and end-users, to gather requirements, prioritize work, and communicate product vision.

Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions. Ability to analyze complex user needs and translate them into actionable software features.

User-Centered Approach: Focus on user needs and experience, with a passion for making complex software accessible to novice users.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create clear product documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Adaptability: Ability to thrive in an agile environment, adapting quickly to changing requirements and evolving product needs.

Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar.

Preferred Skills/Experience

AI Integration: Understanding of how AI can enhance product functionality, particularly in the context of automation and user assistance, is highly desirable.

Experience with Needs Management Systems: Experience working with intelligence analysis, imagery collection, or any software related to tasking and resource management in a defense or intelligence context.

Understanding of Intelligence Workflows: Knowledge of how intelligence teams generate, process, and analyze imagery and other data for decision-making is a plus.
